dCAS Download Instructions
dCAS is downloaded in a five step process in which the required components are installed followed by the dCAS automated cDNA sequence analysis application.Required Components
- NCBI BLAST executable files
- BLAST databases (NR, GO, Mit-pla, RRNA, Conserved Domain Databases, and UniVec)
- CAP3 sequence assembly program
Step 1 |
Download the platform-specific BLAST executable files to your desktop Unzip the file to a folder on your hard drive* *On a Windows machine, the download will extract to three folders: data, bin, doc. For simplicity, you may want to place these three folders in a new folder called 'BLAST' |
|
Step 2 |
Download the platform-specific BLAST database package to your desktop* Unzip the file to the same folder where you placed the BLAST executable files (created in Step 1) |
|
Step 3 |
Download the platform-specific CAP3 application from the CAP3 website to your desktop* |
|
Step 4 |
If you wish to use Phred for adding base-calling for DNA sequence trace files to dCAS, follow the installation instructions at the Phred website* | |
Step 5 |
Please select the target operating system and download the dCAS installer from the list on the right |
|
Step 6 |
dCAS Mate is used with dCAS for parallel processing. It should be installed on the slave computer, which will be controlled by dCAS through local network. Please select the target operating system and download the dCAS Mate installer from the list on the right |
